Tammy & the Siow Family

One of the first to be rescued from a litter of 8 puppies, Tammy is referred to as a miracle dog. Having only 50% of survival as she was without her mother at just 4 days old, Tammy possessed a strong will to live and has now grown into a healthy and happy dog.

Under the care of Mercylight at such a young age, Tammy is very accustomed to humans and adores being around them. She displays natural social skills with dogs as well. Tammy is not one to scare easily, always inquisitive and daring to explore new places while her sisters and brothers follow her lead.

Fast forward to today, this miracle dog has been adopted by Siow family, Anthony and Lorraine Siow, and their two children Nicholas and Erika, and is living a blissful life ever since. Though still having a little naughty side of barking and chewing on things, Tammy has bonded so well with the family and has given them so much joy. The owners and Tammy would sometimes take a 3 kilometre run and she is able maintain her speed all the way!.

“Singapore Specials” is a term that Singapore dog lovers like to coin mongrels in Singapore. And Tammy embodies this title by not only looking like one, but also behaving like one. She has a deep love for our national fruit – durians! Tammy would come bounding in every time the tantalizing scent of Mao Shan Wang hits her nose. So does Tammy get a little treat of that delicious bittersweet golden flesh of the king of fruits from her owners? The Siow Family pleads guilty!

(Watch a hilarious video of Tammy indulging in the flesh of  a durian!)

It is really a turn of events to see Tammy living so happily with Siow family, when actually she might not even have a life to start off with. Miracles, they do happen
